Tell Us YOUR Holiday Tradition!

by Paul on December 16, 2011

In a recent blog post, I mentioned the food that brings back memories for the Schumacher kids each holiday season. The holidays DO seem to center around favorite recipes, but I’m sure all of us can think back to a family tradition; adhering to these traditions are what make memories.

Did your family gather at Grandma and Grandpa’s house with cousins, aunts and uncles and open gifts? Maybe it was your tradition to form a group of carolers and trudge through the falling snow, singing songs and hoping for a cookie and a mug of hot chocolate for your renditions. As a child, did you hang your stocking on the mantel and leave a plate of fresh-baked goodies and a glass of milk for the jolly old elf – and maybe a carrot for the reindeer? Did you have a “Countdown to Christmas” calendar? Perhaps you visited a house of worship in anticipation of the season. Was there a favorite holiday movie or television show that everyone watched, snuggled together under a warm blanket?

Contact us on Facebook and tell us about your favorite family tradition. Let’s see just how many different memories this holiday season will bring to mind. And, whatever your tradition, may you and your family enjoy the season in happiness and anticipation! The holidays are a time for reflection and family togetherness – have a wonderful celebration!
