Kerry and René Earnhardt believe that life is influenced by the beauty of nature, family and the moments share with friends and family at home. Their philosophy inspired the Earnhardt Collection™ by Schumacher Homes, and each home within the collection is inspired by the family’s personal stories.

Kerry named the Sugar Maple for René, his wife of 18 years.

The Sugar Maple is one of the most distinctive homes in The Earnhardt Collection™. In addition to the wide open spaces and huge number of windows, the Sugar Maple also features a stunning wraparound porch accented by heavy wooden pillars built on rock pedestals, and four spacious bedrooms, including an owners’ retreat with a huge walk-in closet and bath.

“When I saw this plan, I knew this house was the one, because it has everything she loves about our home,” says Kerry. “When we started dating, I gave her the nickname ‘Sugar Maple.’ If you’ve ever seen one, they’re stunning trees, and when their leaves change, there’s nothing more beautiful. They’re also unbelievably strong. If you’ve met René, you know ‘strong and beautiful’ is pretty much a perfect description.”

At Schumacher Homes, we always say, “Your Inspiration has a Home.” For Kerry and René, we can say their love has a home. Find the home where your life and love will unfold.

Designed on a foundation of tradition, it’s no surprise that The Earnhardt Collection™ Pikes Peak by Schumacher Homes has become one of our homeowner favorites.

Kerry Earnhardt explains that it’s tradition for he and René to climb Pikes Peak summit every race season in Colorado Springs.

“Along the beaten path we’ve spotted elk, big horn sheep and deer; along with some fishing, all while taking in the beauty of the trails’ wild flowers,” says Kerry. “The vision for Pikes Peak floor plan is designed with grand windows to showcase all of nature’s glory, reminding us so much of our trips on Pikes Peak. The true beauty of nature is best appreciated in with loved ones by your side.”

The great room has an open feel accentuated by a cathedral ceiling that leads directly to the back porch where you can relax and unwind. And in the evening, the large owners’ retreat, with plenty of walk-in closet space and a spa-inspired owners’ bath, provides a great place to retire after a long day.  And with three bedrooms, two baths, and more than 2,000 square feet, there’s plenty of room for the whole family!

Your Serenity Has A Home: The Earnhardt Collection Hummingbird

Anyone remember the Seinfeld episode in which Frank Costanza screams “Serenity Now!” as a means of lowering his blood pressure? That phrase became one of the most memorable from the show because in the rat race of all of our lives, we can all use a little, “Serenity Now!”

And perhaps no family knows more about life in the fast lane than the Earnhardts, and that’s where the inspiration for the Earnhardt Collection™ Hummingbird by Schumacher Homes was born.

“Like everybody, we keep a crazy busy schedule, and with all we have going on with the kids’ schedule, and our schedule, and family and friends, it feels like we’re just flying 90 to nothing all the time, like a hummingbird,” says René. “For us, our home is our retreat. It’s the one place we can relax and regroup and just be together. For us, Hummingbird was a reminder that no matter how fast we’re flying, there’s always something ‘sweet’ about coming home.”

The Hummingbird floorplan was one of the first designs built when we launched the Earnhardt Collectionin 2011. The Tinsley family that built in SC, gave René and Kerry at tour of their custom Hummingbird, which they built as a retreat to get away from the hustle and bustle of fast pace life and relax with family friends.

Step through the front door of Hummingbird, and you will know you are home. The openness of the kitchen, great room and dining room are magnified by the spectacular two-story cathedral ceiling that makes the home feel enormous. Downstairs, you’ll enjoy a private owners’ retreat with a beautiful bath and two huge closets that are completely separated from the other two bedrooms upstairs. But you’ll still feel connected thanks to a spacious upstairs loft that looks down on the great room and dining room. You’ll also enjoy a roomy front porch—complete with your very own hummingbird feeder.
